    First Swim Meet!

    Hello Everyone!

We are very excited for our first swim meet of the season!  It will be held at 1044 Roxboro Drive

Atlanta 30324 on Tuesday May 31st. Directions can be located at Atlanta swimming.com, go to Leagues > Teams> Roxboro> Directions.

Please arrive at 4:30 and have your swimmers ready for warm up by 4:45. The swim meet will start at 5:30. The pool is near Lenox, so keep in mind our lovely Atlanta traffic when planning your departure from Dunwoody.

It Is very important that you RSVP for the swim meet on our website. If you RSVP 'No' we will know not to put your swimmer in the line up and it will help prevent chaos on meet day. If you do not respond we will assume you are available and plan on coming. We have extended the RSVP deadline until tomorrow afternoon. Please make sure you let us know as soon as possible if your swimmers will be there.

Below I have attached information sent to us by Roxboro's Team Representative:

In case of bad weather, we do not have a safe inside space for either team to wait out a storm.  If bad weather does roll in, we will have to send folks to their cars and communicate with them via text or e-mail the status of the meet as we wait.

Our neighborhood streets are very narrow and a little hard to navigate unless you are familiar with the area.  Our parking coordinator and security guard will be at the last intersection to the pool.  Here you can drop off your swimmers and they will be escorted with Roxboro swimmers down the hill to your bull pen.  From that point, parents can pull back out into the neighborhood to park. Sometimes this causes anxiety for parents but the fact is that there is no easy way to turn around after you get past the last intersection where our parking coordinator will be located.

    Please encourage everyone to carpool.

Your bull pen will be located in our upper parking area that is completely blocked off during swim meets. We will have a 10’x30’ canopy on a concrete pad with some picnic tables for you in that area. We have recently re-landscaped (please encourage your kids to be kind to our new trees!!) and added some pine bark islands and benches in that area. Bringing some extra folding chairs would probably be handy.  We will put some extra tents out there for shade. Our sports court and playground will be behind you.  I would prefer to leave this as open area rather than claim it for either team. Your kids are welcome to play there - just know that Sharks may be out there too.

Let me know if you have any questions!
