General Meet Information –
- The ASA Championships at GA Tech are an optional meet open to all DCC swimmers.
- Swimmers may choose their events!
- 2 individual events
- 2 relay events, relays will be formed based on overall number of DCC swimmers entered in the meet
- Location –
- McAuley Aquatic Center at the GA Tech Campus Recreation Center.
- 750 Ferst Dr, Atlanta, GA 30318
- Meet format is timed finals. Teams and swimmers compete in 1 session only with 8 – 12 teams per session. Each session will be its own championship finals with medals, ribbons, and team trophies.
- Spectators at meet –
- At this time, it looks as if spectators will not be allowed at this year’s meet. Participating teams will be provided extra credentials for parents who volunteer to work the meet, as well as extra credentials to help supervise the team area (bullpen) and shuttle swimmers to and from the deck for their events. The likely ratio will be 1 meet credential per 8 swimmers entered.
- Parents are responsible for arranging transportation for their swimmers to and from GA Tech for the meet.
- No spectators at the meet significantly complicates logistics for all prospective participants, especially for younger swimmers. In order to have the meet, ASA must follow the policies set by GA Tech.
- Coach Kevin will work with GA Tech meet participants to coordinate specific meet logistics once entries are submitted and our session is assigned on 6/14.
- Details about a livestream broadcast of the meet will be communicated by ASA as the meet date draws near.
- Lots more specific information about meet logistics related to parking, Covid protocols, warm up procedures, awards, meet merchandise, concessions, and more can be found via the ASA website linked here.
