Hello DCC Dive Team!

We are excited to begin a new season with y’all! We want to introduce the new families to the coaches and share some information with you.

Meet the Coaches!

Ansley Christensen will be joining us for her 3^rd season. She swam and dove during the summers for 12 years at Redfield with stints in year round programs. Ansley is an Auburn graduate and a teacher. She teaches at Woodland Elementary School and will be a 3^rd Grade teacher there. She absolutely loves spending her summers with children and coaching dive.

Emily Christensen has been a dive coach with us since 2017. Emily dove at the Atlanta Diving Association for about a decade. Though she had offers to pursue a collegiate diving career, she decided to retire after her final high school state meet. This May, Emily graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Elementary Education. She will be teaching 5th grade at Woodland Elementary with her sister and fellow coach, Ansley Christensen, in the fall.

Lauren Davis has been coaching at DCC for 3 seasons. She has just completed her freshman year at Georgia Tech where she is a member of the swim & dive team. Lauren started diving when she was 8 years old at her neighborhood pool. After a decade in the sport she is still so passionate about dive and coaching!

Practices:

After school practices will begin on Monday, 5/10. See schedule below:

• Week of 5/10, Monday – Friday
• Week of 5/17, Monday – Thursday (no dive practice on Friday, 5/21)
• Week of 5/24, Monday – Thursday (*start morning practices on Friday, 5/28*)

Afternoon practice:

4:00-6:00 pm

Open Dive – come for a 30 minute block whenever your schedule allows, try and coordinate it around your swim schedule or other commitments you may have

Morning practice:

Begins Friday, 5/28 and continues Monday – Friday for rest of season (No dive practice on Memorial Day, 5/31)

9:00-11:00 am

Tentative Meet Schedule

(All meets are scheduled for Wednesday’s at 5:30pm unless they are rescheduled)

• Meet 1 – Wed 5/19, away at Windward Lake Club
• Meet 2 – Wed 5/26, home vs Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC)
• Meet 3 – Wed 6/2, home vs Redfield
• Meet 4 – Wed 6/9, away at St. Ives Country Club
• Meet 5 – Wed 6/16 away Roswell Rec

Championships will be June 19^th at Georgia Tech – more information to come
